For Wright State’s online faculty

Create a new online course

We’ll create a password-protected online classroom for you. Tell us what Wright State class it’s for and if you want the course active for the coming quarter or if you will just be developing the course for another quarter.

Registering courses no longer necessary

With the new Banner/WebCT integration, faculty no longer need to register courses each quarter to make them active for students. Banner will automatically create shells for all active courses.

Help Desk will notify profs when students can’t find courses

When a student tells Help Desk staff his online course isn’t on his myWebCT page, the Help Desk will notify the course instructor by e-mail. To learn how to update your student list, see the “Manage your course” section of A Warehouse of Wisdom.

Respondus 3.5 now available

Make and manage quizzes for your online courses the easy way with Respondus.

The latest version has a provision for adding alternative text to images for accessibility. And you can deliver equations using MathML.

This Windows program works great on a Mac with Virtual PC, too. Download Respondus in the “Download” section of A Warehouse of Wisdom, free for Wright State faculty.

StudyMate is now available

Create online games and other fun activities and upload them into your WebCT courses. Download StudyMate from the Warehouse of Wisdom.

CTL sends welcome letters to online students

The Center for Teaching and Learning sent more than a thousand welcome packets to online students fall quarter. Each packet included the student’s user name and password and information to help get started online. Contact Terri Klaus to have packets sent to your Web-only or mixed-mode class next quarter.

Faculty using the Web to enhance face-to-face courses may print and handout the same logon instructions. They are available on the "First time here?" page.
